Food Lovers: Vietnamese Edition

Spend a day celebrating the food, drink, and culture of Vietnam!

This “Food Lovers” event will be emceed by Chef Annie Elmore, and will include themed cooking demonstrations by our talented team and special guest chefs. The day is packed with delicious, informative culinary fun, back-to-back demos, hands-on sessions, substantial tastes of everything plus unique beverage pairings and super cool stuff to make and take!

You’ll start the day with a big Vietnamese traditional breakfast in the Hot Stove Society Loft Bar with the spread of congee station and assorted toppings, plain and meat filled rice rolls with Vietnamese ham, sweetened sticky rice from Thanh Son Tofu, and exotic fruits, along with Vietnamese coffee from Hello Em, before moving into the Hot Stove Kitchen to get cooking (and eating)! Keep reading for a run down of the day - guests will receive substantial tastes of each Chef's demonstration dish.  Come hungry!

All Day Demos and Hands-On:  

  • Yenvy Pham from Pho Bac will demo Pho Soup Dumplings, paired with the Quyhn Bee - a pho fat washed Jameson shot with pho broth.
  • Chef Cuong and Sammy Nguyen from Ong Lam will demonstrate Muoc Chien - fried calamari with salted egg yolk aioli and Ban Xeo - Vietnamese crepes.  Guests will turn to the stoves and take a shot at making their own crepes!
  • Chef Quyen Phan from Anchovies & Salt will demonstrate northern crab spring rolls (Nem Cua Be), before doing some hands on work with our guests, making sauteed beef with mustard greens (Pho Chien Phong).  We will pair this with deep fried pho dough pillows!
  • Our own chef Bridget Charters will do a demonstration of a classic French Crepe Suzette and speak about the relationship between French and Vietnamese cuisines.
  • Chef Annie will demonstrate Northern and Southern fresh rolls, making pork-taro spring rolls. Guests will get to roll their own fresh rolls and taste pork-taro spring rolls.
  • The day will end on a sweet note with a Fill-Your-Own crème puff reception in the Loft Bar and rose!  Guest will get to fill their puffs with Vietnamese Coffee Custard, Mango Custard, and Coconut Custard, before packing them up to take home with them.

Hot Stove Cocktail Master, Julie Ross, will be serving paired beverages throughout the day!

Ticket price is per 1 person.  

Refund Policy:  Once a class is purchased it is non-refundable.  The ownership, however, is yours and you may send someone else in your stead.
