Honoring Thierry Rautureau

It’s high time we have a celebration for our dearly departed Hot Stove Society radio co-host and chef extraordinaire,Thierry Rautureau, the “Chef in the Hat”. With the blessings of his wife Kathy, I have put together a lunch that reminds me of his restaurant “Luc” formerly in Madison Valley. This was my personal favorite of their joints having had many suppers and “Luc-a-tinis “ at the spectacular neighborhood cafe named after his spirited father.

One hundred percent of the ticket price for this birthday lunch will be donated to the American Lung Association’s Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis research fund. Thierry’s bout with IPF went a full 12 rounds before he passed. I will share some favorite stories and we can discuss recipes and techniques from his Rovers cookbook, if time permits. As you can see from the menu below we are welcoming the fall season with open arms and searing hot pans. So bittersweet!!

Each ticket will include a light breakfast during the live radio show, followed by a celebratory lunch. Guests will be invited to  our beautiful Loft area while the team sets up for a delicious lunch with Chef Tom Douglas.  

Lunch Menu:

  • Amuse - Normandy butter, roasted plum, baguette 
  • Salad of Bibb lettuce, Dungeness crab, grapefruit, mint, crispy shallots, tarragon vinaigrette 
  • Muscovy Duck confit, walnut eau du vie, roasted potatoes, foie crisp, fennel salad 
  • Fall raspberry clafouti, vanilla sugar

Policies: 

Ticket price is per 1 person.  If you register separately from the person (or people) with whom you are attending, please let us know in advance so we can make sure we seat you with your party. 

Refund policy: Once a class is purchased it is non-refundable.  The ownership, however, is yours and you may send someone else in your stead. 

Unfortunately we're unable to accomodate dietary restrictions for this event.
