Inspirational Cal Pep Barcelona…. with Chef Tom Douglas
October 18 2024 | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM2000 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121
I’ve been to Barcelona a few times in my life not once missing an opportunity to sit at the bustling counter at Cal Pep. Located just off the wildly crowded Rambla and near the entrance to old Barceloneta there is always a line at Cal Pep. It is the granddaddy of Barcelona tapas bars. Tonight I’m going to use my taste memory to recreate favorites enjoyed at what I consider a world heritage worthy classic restaurant.
Where I could I’ve used seasonal Prosser Farm produce grown by my wife Jackie in Prosser, WA.
Each guest will receive a glass of rose sangria made by Julie Ross.
Guests will receive substantial tastes of the following dishes while Chef Tom Douglas demonstrates on stage.
What You'll Learn and Taste:
- Ripe Tomato Toast, Garlic, Spanish Olive Oil
- Manzanilla Olive Breadsticks, Serrano Ham, Aged Manchego
- Penn Cove Blue Mussels, Saffron Aioli
- Black Cod, Spinach, Chickpeas
- Chorizo Migas Fried Egg
- Sardine, Piquillo Pepper Toast
- Cauliflower Fritter Ala Jose Andres
- Pinch Ribs, Fino Sherry, Honey
- Albondigas, Crisp Mushrooms, Garlic, Carrot
- Delightfully Decadent Flan Ala TD
